VALLEN ACOUSTIC EMISSION - APPLICATIONS
The range of applications for ACOUSTIC EMISSION is manifold. Nevertheless, acceptance of AE as inspection and testing method was driven by integrity inspection of pressure vessels. Application of AE measurement spread from testing a pressure vessel to corrosion testing of flat bottom storage tanks (above ground storage tanks), leakage testing of pipelines and valves, testing for partial discharge in transformers, and nowadays finds its entrance in structural health monitoring of civil engineering structures. In the field of research and development, acoustic emission measurement methodology has become a constant factor.
VALLEN SYSTEME ACOUSTIC EMISSION TEST SYSTEMS
1-) ACOUSTIC EMISSION SENSORS & PREAMPLIFIERS
The sensor represents the first component in an AE measurement chain and therefore is of particular importance. A subsequent measurement system can only process signals picked up by the AE sensor. Anything that the AE sensor does not pick up is lost for analysis. The preamplifier, either integrated or added externally, maintains the signal to noise ratio and enables the transmission of the sensor output over long cable distances.
2-) DATA ACQUISITION UNITS
Vallen Systeme offers state-of-the-art measurement technology which is continuously developed. The complete product range from single channel to multi-channel systems with several hundreds of channels is available to cover the wide range of requirements from portable systems over service provider applications to permanent monitoring. All devices provide AE features and waveform data in the well-known data base format for further analysis in the VisualAE Suite software.
